Let me show you something outside of my usual Fintech topic that has changed my life.
Was watching Barcelona Marathon '26 this weekend. I remember prepping for my first one, same marathon, back in '24.
My knee gave out mid-marathon prep. I wasn't ready. I wasn't running properly. It was a meniscus problem. The doctor said I might need surgery.
I even flew to Barcelona for that marathon - just to watch other people run. I was devastated.
I've been very careful with running since then. Started obsessing over what went wrong. What was I doing that was destroying my knees every time I ran?
So I did what any engineer would do. I built an app for it.
I built KneeGuard - an app that uses computer vision to analyze running form and detect the patterns that hurt your knees.
Every time I go to the gym and run on the treadmill, I record a couple of 15–20 second videos. Then I analyze them to detect potential problems - overstriding, stiff landings, hip drop, excessive bounce - so next time, I run better.
Almost 2 years have passed and I'm back in shape.
Marathon this year? Possible.
Never give up.
I wanted to share this with all of you - it genuinely helped me get back to running. And I think it can help you too.
